    Hi james, they …
Hi james, they actually dont use the 747 anymore. They have switched to the B777-300ER but they later increased the service to twice daily. So yes, they do quite well on this route. Great job by SIA pilots! My uncle is a pilot for the national carrier and a lot of these guys are really bright :)

    The rudder needs to …
The rudder needs to be used all the time on this kind of approach. You will see that the plane actually yaw right before the touch down. This is the crosswind technique. Great landing and fantastic video. Praises to the pilots for making the landing look easy even though its not.

    You can see rudder …
You can see rudder being used straight after touchdown.

    Awesome landing vid …
Awesome landing vid. Its amazing how the aircraft aligns itself to the runway just at the last minute instead of shooting off to the grass. Amazing how SQ is using the B747-400 to ZUH. Must be able to attract alot of pax.

Oh my gosh, that is a scary landing !!!

I flew with Singapore Airlines from Tokyo to SIngapore and we went though a storm with massive cross winds and the plane shook violently for 45 minutes (this was just south of the Japanese coast line).

It is usual to land off centre linw in X wind conditions and not to mention wind sheer conditions… Pull off a perfect centre line landing in nasty conditions and I’ll take back my words

    Yeah well the …
Yeah well the runway edge lights are not the centre line, the middle of the runway is and a blind dog can see they are right of centreline. They stuffed it up, no drama hopefully they won’t make the mistake again. And I can critisize, you cant say I am not checked out on the 747. Unfortunately a lot of Airlines including SIA don’t take critisizm, thats why they keep losing passengers in accidents.

    let it be the …
let it be the airline of the year 2007

  23. 1fighterpilot on February 26th, 2009 at 8:11 pm

    the centreline is …
the centreline is not very defined in this video to he maintains centreline through the whole landing. Look at the white lights abeam the runway guiding the centreline, and then look at the plane tell me what do you see. What I see is a plane maintaining its same horizontal track on the runway.

  24. 1fighterpilot on February 26th, 2009 at 8:11 pm

    This video plays an …
This video plays an optical Elusion yes it does look like he is off the centreline but he is actually not the video was shot at angle like said before. I will prove this by directing you to the white runway lights on approach towards the runway, abeam the runway. You clearly do not see the plane shift out side of the plain of the lights (centreline),

  25. 1fighterpilot on February 26th, 2009 at 8:11 pm

    jhar88 first of all …
jhar88 first of all I want to see you do that with a 747, and dont critisize that pilot if you do not have a type rating and if you are personnally yourself check out on a 747.
