    Yes. It is very easy and all a pax has to do is grab a lever at the top of the seatback, push it forward to pull the seat down, then flip over the extension. Should be less than 30 seconds.

    first class seats are design the same way as business. The only difference is that they get a turn down service.

    As xxquiker said, there are benefits to the system SIA has chosen.
    1. it saves weight
    2. as a consequent of 1#, it save fuel
    3. it precludes the chance of anything going wrong like in mechanical lie-flat seats
    4. the design would make a motor too bulky to fit and would not work

    yea because its cheaper to have it as an automatic. The seat is too big, and a big motor will be needed to make it turn into a bed. More weight means more fuel. Thats why its automatic.
